Erfurt (dpa/th) – Anyone who has taken in refugees from Ukraine privately can receive financial support for this. The Ministry for Migration, Justice and Consumer Protection announced on Monday in Erfurt that districts and urban districts can agree to pay a monthly flat rate with private households retrospectively from February. According to the information, there can be 150 euros for each first person admitted, and 75 euros for each additional refugee. According to a ministry spokeswoman, the districts and municipalities are free to decide whether to pay the lump sum.
At the same time, the ministry announced that the municipalities and districts can also get more money for accommodating refugees from Ukraine. If they incur charges that go beyond the lump sum that has been paid to them anyway, they will be reimbursed by the state. With a so-called tip settlement, all necessary and reasonable costs would be covered. A corresponding regulation came into force at the end of last week.
