Pößneck (dpa/th) – A 59-year-old was seriously injured in a gas explosion in his house in Pösneck (Saale-Orla district). He suffered severe burns and was taken to a special clinic, the police said on Friday morning. During the night, the man had turned on the light in his kitchen when an explosion suddenly ignited. Accordingly, the gas stove could have been the cause of the explosion.
Since only the 59-year-old currently lives in the apartment building, no one else was injured. According to the police, the property damage is around 50,000 euros. A structural engineer must now check whether the house is still habitable.
