Gößnitz (dpa/th) – According to the public prosecutor’s office, the investigation after the discovery of a dead woman in Gößnitz in eastern Thuringia will “certainly be discontinued”. The Polish police reported a suicide by the alleged perpetrator, said the spokesman for the Gera public prosecutor on Monday. As soon as the official confirmation, including in the form of a death certificate, is available, the process will be discontinued. Until then, it will be checked further whether the previous investigation results match the traces and the findings.
The 46-year-old woman was reported missing by her daughter in Poland. The police found her dead in her apartment in Altenburger Land. According to the investigating authority, the autopsy of the dead had shown that she had been strangled with a cable. Public prosecutors and police are investigating on suspicion of manslaughter. “A relationship problem can be seen as a motive,” said the spokesman for the public prosecutor’s office.
