Integration courses usually last a few months. Many war refugees from Ukraine have now started such a course.
Erfurt/Nuremberg (dpa/th) – So far this year, 3,800 Ukrainians have started an integration course in Thuringia. This was announced by the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees (Bamf) in Nuremberg when asked by dpa. Since the beginning of August, with 1,900 Ukrainian participants, their number has doubled in Bavaria. At the beginning of October there were said to be 3,000.
According to the Federal Office, around 6,000 people have started an integration course in Thuringia, regardless of their country of origin. According to the information, about 13,500 entitlements to participate in such courses were granted in the year to date.
According to the Federal Office, it can take a certain amount of time before the right course is found, which is why the start of the course is often delayed after the authorization and the placement test have been issued.
According to the information, integration courses consist of a total of 700 hours. The language part makes up 600 hours, the other 100 hours are about values, the legal system or the social system.
The courses are put together according to the respective language level and are aimed at all immigrants – regardless of their origin. Only adults attend these integration courses, while school attendance is compulsory for minors in Germany. There are numerous educational opportunities there.
According to the state administration office, around 30,000 war refugees from Ukraine have been registered in Thuringia so far.
