Eisenach (dpa/th) – With further warning strikes, employees in the metal and electrical industry in Thuringia have underlined their demands in the ongoing wage negotiations. On Thursday morning, around 330 employees on the early shift at Robert Bosch vehicle electrics in Eisenach stopped work for one and a half hours, as IG Metall announced in the evening. From 2 p.m., around 250 other workers on the late shift followed the union’s second call that day. For Friday she announced further warning strikes at Benteler in Eisenach and ZF in Gotha.
The union is demanding 8 percent more money for a period of twelve months. A few days ago, the employers made an offer that included a tax-free inflation compensation premium of 3,000 euros. They only promised a percentage increase in salaries. However, the union insists on it and demands a new offer. “After three rounds of negotiations with the employers in Thuringia, there is no rapprochement,” criticized Uwe Laubach, 1st authorized representative of IG Metall Eisenach.
