Gera (dpa/th) – The Gera Natural History Museum will be open to visitors again from Saturday. “After a 140-day break, the Museum of Natural History in Gera is reopening,” the house announced on Monday. According to the museum, a new fire alarm system was installed at that time after the old one was destroyed during a thunderstorm on June 25. In the meantime, the museum was closed to visitor traffic, with the exception of Museum Night.
The new exhibition “Tamed hurrying – The White Elster and its valley between Greiz and Bad Köstritz” is intended to welcome guests with photos from the Elstertal and information about beavers and otters, among other things. In another area of ??the exhibition, the mineral and fossil finds of the Elstertal will be presented – including gold.
