Erfurt (dpa/th) – In the struggle for a budget for 2023, Red-Red-Green and the CDU have not yet reached a final compromise, but have spoken of progress. Consultations in the Budget and Finance Committee on the budget for the coming year are not to be held on Thursday as planned, but in a special session on Tuesday, as Left Group leader Steffen Dittes said on Wednesday after talks between Red-Red-Green and the CDU.
A spokesman for the CDU parliamentary group said that red-red-green had made far-reaching concessions – especially with funds for the municipalities. Dittes said they were moving towards each other.
According to both sides, there is still a need for clarification on how to cover expenses. There is an existing and still unresolved conflict here, said a spokesman for the CDU parliamentary group.
According to Dittes, the budget holders of the factions involved in the negotiations want to clarify more detailed questions in the next two days. The special meeting of the budget and finance committee is then planned for Tuesday.
