Erfurt (dpa/th) – At numerous peace prayers, rallies and vigils, people in Thuringia commemorated the victims of the Russian war of aggression against Ukraine. According to the police, more than 1,000 participants in a rally entitled “365 Days of War” were expected on the cathedral square in Erfurt on Friday, in which Thuringia’s Prime Minister Bodo Ramelow (left) also wanted to take part.

On February 24, 2022, Russia invaded Ukraine. Since then, a brutal war has been raging in the Eastern European country with thousands dead and injured on both sides. Many people fled from Ukraine – especially women, children and the elderly.
