Erfurt (dpa/th) – A rusted exhaust pipe kept the explosive ordnance clearance service on Thursday afternoon in Erfurt. As the police announced on Friday, a bomb had previously been found in the Gera cycle path area. Since it could not be ruled out that it was an explosive device from World War II, the fire brigade and police cordoned off the site and requested an explosive ordnance clearance service. “As it turned out after the salvage, the alleged bomb was an exhaust pipe.”
