Erfurt/Neustadt/Orla (dpa/th) – The state is initially supporting the organization of the state garden show in 2028 in the Orla region with 5.5 million euros. A corresponding funding decision was handed over on Tuesday in Neustadt an der Orla. The money is to be used to renovate urban spaces, revitalize vacant properties and create green oases, as the Ministry of Infrastructure announced.
“The state horticultural show will have a lasting positive impact on the entire Orla region,” explained State Secretary Torsten Weil. For the first time, a state garden show was awarded to an entire region. The Orlaregion initiative group with the towns of Pößneck, Neustadt an der Orla and Triptis prevailed against seven competitors. The exhibition concept with many events and the horticultural ideas promise a high experience value for the visitors, it said.
The next Thuringian State Horticultural Show will take place in Leinefelde-Worbis (Eichsfeld) in 2025.
