Erfurt (dpa/th) – The previous temperature record in Thuringia was reached again for the first time on Wednesday. Early on Wednesday evening, the maximum of 38.9 degrees, measured in 2015 in Artern (Kyffhäuserkreis), was reached again in two places. “We stopped that today both in Dachwig (Gotha) and in Jena at the observatory,” said DWD spokesman Andreas Friedrich. “And there could be something else.” The early evening values ??are provisional. Official and final values ??should only be available at a later hour. New daily and monthly records were recorded at some of the 27 measuring stations in Bavaria and the absolute temperature record could still be broken. “It is quite possible that Jena will approach the 40 degree mark,” was the expert forecast from the morning. According to the DWD, no 39 degrees have been measured in Thuringia since records began.
