Erfurt (dpa/th) – Thuringia remains one of the federal states with the lowest corona incidence. The Robert Koch Institute gave the number of officially recorded weekly new infections per 100,000 inhabitants on Thursday as 119.8. Only Bavaria (115.5) had a lower seven-day value. A week ago, the incidence in Thuringia was 127.
However, experts have been assuming that the number of infections is unreported for some time, since the RKI numbers only include the cases detected by means of a PCR test, but not the evidence by quick or self-tests. However, many doctors now do without PCR tests.
Within seven days, 29 more deaths from people infected with the coronavirus were reported in Thuringia. According to the RKI, the total number of deaths in connection with Corona since the beginning of the pandemic has increased to 7937 in Thuringia.
