Erfurt (dpa/th) – The Thuringian high school graduates of the 2022 class were almost no year before them, despite corona-related restrictions. According to preliminary statistics presented on Monday by the Ministry of Education, it is the most successful high school year since statistical recording began in the Free State. The grade point average is therefore 2.04. In the previous year it was 2.06. The nationwide Abitur grade point average has been statistically collected in Thuringia since the 2003 Abitur class.

According to the ministry, the number of top marks is also still high. 299 students finished school with a grade of 1.0. Last year there were 311 high school graduates. A total of 6,399 students took the exams, of which 6,292 passed. This corresponds to a success rate of 98.3 percent.
