Saalfeld (dpa/th) – Two men died in a head-on collision of their cars on the B281. According to the first findings of the police, a 65-year-old drove from Pößneck towards Saalfeld on Friday. Shortly before the Vogelschutz level crossing, the man lost control and drove his car into oncoming traffic, the police said on Monday. The car collided head-on with the car of a 72-year-old man. Both men succumbed to their injuries at the scene of the accident. Federal highway 281 was closed for several hours. In addition to the police, experts were also on site to investigate the accident. Investigators are looking for witnesses.
