CD Noblejas has issued a statement on social networks to announce the death of a nine-year-old boy while training with the Municipal Football School team in the town of Toledo.
“We regret to have to announce the death today of our student, colleague, and friend, the boy Walid Bouabidi Rafi, only nine years old,” the letter says.
One of the paragraphs focuses on thanking the efforts of the emergency teams for trying to reverse the cardiorespiratory arrest that the boy suffered, ultimately without success.
“Despite the enormous efforts of the Football School monitors, the municipal sports service staff, medical assistance, the Ocaña Civil Guard, municipal authorities present yesterday afternoon along with fathers and mothers, the medical situation of the minor has not been able to be resolved in the way that we all would have wanted,” the club laments.
As a sign of official mourning, training and matches at the Municipal Football School are suspended until the return of the Christmas holidays.
“On behalf of everyone, we want to convey our condolences, and our solidarity and affection, to the family and friends, as well as to all the members of the Municipal Football School for this tragic and profound loss,” the statement concludes.
On Wednesday, December 13, at 6:30 p.m., a tribute ceremony will take place at the facilities of the Ángel Luengo Garro de Noblejas natural grass soccer field.
