Public transport in Madrid will also activate a special service plan on the occasion of the arrival of the New Year 2024.
The Madrid Regional Transport Consortium (CRTM) has designed a service plan for the first day of 2024. The increase in convoys will take place on several lines during the first day of the year.
On January 1, 2024, the Metro network will open at 7:00 a.m.
On January 1, New Year’s Day, the bus service will begin operating between 7:15 a.m. and 8:45 a.m. depending on the line and head, except special lines and lines to cemeteries.
During these dates, the opening and closing hours of Madrid’s transport interchanges will have changes during the Christmas period, although in the case of Moncloa, Príncipe Pío, Plaza de Castilla and Avenida de América they will not affect any EMT lines.
In the case of the Plaza Elíptica interchange, on January 1 it will open at 8 a.m., so line 155 departures prior to that time will be made from outside.
Several stations of the Bicimad e-bike network will experience closures until January 8. Specifically, they are: Calle Mayor s/n (station 1B); Plaza de Celenque,1 (stations 25A and 25B); Calle Mayor, 20 (station 31); Plaza de la Provincia,1 (station 32); Calle Carretas, 8 (station 33); Jacinto Benavente Square (station 34); Plaza del Carmen, 1 (station 56); Tres Cruces Street, 7 (station 210).
