Public transport in Madrid will also activate a special service plan on the occasion of New Year’s Eve.

Looking ahead to Sunday, December 31, 2023, the Madrid Regional Transport Consortium (CRTM) has designed a service plan before the arrival of the new year. The increase in convoys will be carried out on several lines during the two special days between the last day of 2023 and the first day of 2024.

On the other hand, the city of Madrid celebrates the San Silvestre Vallecana Race on December 31, which will run through the districts of Chamartín, Salamanca, Centro, Retiro and Puente de Vallecas.

The sporting event, with a popular test and a professional test, will be held at 4:45 p.m. and will end at 9:00 p.m.

On December 31, the service will be reinforced for the San Silvestre race and New Year’s Eve, but the Metro will maintain its usual schedule until 1:30. It should be noted that the Sol stop will remain closed on December 31 in the morning between 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m.

On January 1, 2024, the Metro network will open at 7 a.m.

The last departure of the daytime network on December 31 from the headwaters will be between 9:30 p.m. and 9:45 p.m. On January 1, New Year’s Day, the bus service will begin operating between 7:15 and 8:45 a.m. depending on the line and head.

Night service: On New Year’s Eve, the night service schedule from N1 to N26 will begin from Cibeles at 10:30 p.m. and end at 7 a.m. with a frequency from Cibeles starting at 0 a.m. for 45-50 min and from 0 a.m. 7 hours every 20-35 min. Line N28 Moncloa – Aravaca will leave from Moncloa at 10:50 p.m. until 7:00 a.m. every 35 minutes.

During these dates, the opening and closing hours of Madrid’s transport interchanges will have changes during the Christmas period, although in the case of Moncloa, Príncipe Pío, Plaza de Castilla and Avenida de América they will not affect any EMT lines.

In the case of the Plaza Elíptica interchange, the anticipated closure on the 31st will not affect the last departures from the interchange, but on January 1 it will open at 8 a.m., so line 155 departures prior to that time will be will be carried out from the outside.

On December 31, the usual schedules for the train service will be maintained. The Sol station will be closed from 6:00 p.m., on the occasion of the New Year’s Bells. For this reason, lines C-3 and C-4 will not stop at this station from that time onwards.

On December 31, the route to the airport will make the last trip at 9:30 p.m. from Airport T4 and at 9:45 p.m. from the Atocha interchange.

According to Europa Press, its night service will begin that day in both headwaters at 10:30 p.m. and will end at 7 a.m. in both headwaters. The frequency of passage will be set at 35-45 minutes.
