A truck driver died in an accident on the A620 between Völklingen and Wadgassen in Saarland. The police said his vehicle began to sway for reasons that are not yet clear, broke through the crash barriers and fell from a bridge around eight to ten meters down and onto a track bed that was no longer used. The dump truck caught fire and burned out. The dead man was then found in the cab.

The A620 was initially closed in both directions around the accident site. After a structural engineer was called in, the motorway towards Saarbrücken was released again in the evening, it was said. The truck had to be recovered with a crane. According to local media, he had loaded gravel. It was not initially clear whether there were other people involved in the accident.
