Boris Johnson is facing another setback in the UK. On Tuesday, two British ministers resigned to say they had lost confidence in Boris Johnson’s leadership after a string of scandals that marred the government.

Sajid Javid, Health Minister, wrote a resignation letter to Boris Johnson. It was posted on Twitter. He stated that it “clearly isn’t going to change under you leadership – and I have therefore lost your trust”.

Rishi Sunak, Finance Minister, followed suit. He stated that the public expects government to be run competently and with seriousness in his letter. It was also posted on Twitter.

Boris Johnson returned to the country after a week spent abroad at three summits. After serious allegations, a member of his government was forced to resign. According to British media, Chris Pincher, deputy chief whip, was in charge of parliamentary discipline for Conservative MPs. He touched two men, including one MP, on Wednesday night in front of witnesses at the Carlton Club in London, resulting in complaints to his party. He confessed to drinking “far too much” and apologized for “shaming himself, (him), and other people”.

It is embarrassing to see the recent spate of sex-related incidents within “BoJo”‘s conservative party. Unnamed MPs were arrested for rape and released on bail in May. Another MP resigned in April after he was caught watching pornography on the House’s mobile phone. A former MP was sentenced in May to 18 months imprisonment for sexual assaulting a 15-year old boy. These two men had been arrested and later released on bail. A third, who was also suspected of rape, resigned in April for watching pornography in the House from his mobile phone. In May, a former MP was convicted of sexual assault of a 15-year-old boy.

Boris Johnson finds it difficult to manage business, and social conflicts are growing in the United Kingdom because of soaring prices. Also after “partygate”, which was the scandal of Downing Street parties that were organized despite anti-Covid restrictions. He was unable to vote in confidence in his camp and only survived for a month.
