5:46 AM: The battle for Severodonetsk goes on

Russians and proRussian separatists are trying to retake full control over Severodonetsk which has been bombarded for several week. According to Volodymyr Zelensky, Ukraine’s President, it is the “most difficult battle” since the beginning of the war. “In many ways, the fate for our Donbass has been decided there.”

This would allow Russia to open the way to Kramatorsk in Moscow. It is an important step towards capturing the entire region bordering Russia. However, Ukraine could resume Severodonetsk in two, three days if it has “long range” Western artillery. This was assured Thursday by Serguii Gaidai, the governor of Lugansk (one of the two regions of Donbass).
