Multiple media reported four people were shot dead and four others injured in a shooting spree Monday night in Philadelphia. City police spokesman Miguel Torres confirmed to AFP that there were several gunshot victims, without giving numbers or details.
The Philadelphia Inquirer, CNN and other outlets reported that a suspect was arrested after the shooting occurred in the Kingsessing neighborhood, located in Southwest Philadelphia.
The Philadelphia Inquirer said at least two minors were among those shot dead. He said police arrested a man wearing a body armor and found a rifle and handgun along with magazines.
Describing the crime scene, the newspaper explained that the victims were found in various locations. Last weekend, two people were killed and 28 others injured in a shooting at a block party in Baltimore.
Since the start of the year, the United States has seen 339 mass shootings, according to the organization Gun Violence Archive.
