For asphyxiating George Floyd, an African-American African-American with his knee, Derek Chauvin, a white police officer, was sentenced by the United States Federal Justice to more than 20 Years in Prison on Thursday.

Although the former agent, 46 years old, was already sentenced by the Minnesota state court to 22 and a quarter years imprisonment, he appealed. Because it is a result of a plea agreement, the concurrent federal sentence is final for his part.

Derek Chauvin, a white 44-year-old police officer wanted to arrest George Floyd. He was suspected of using a fake $20 bill to purchase cigarettes. He had fought Floyd to the ground with three of his colleagues before kneeling on his neck.

The policeman was able to maintain his pressure for almost ten minutes without noticing George Floyd’s groans or panicked passersby. Even after the pulse of the forties had been detected, the policeman did not stop.
