Four people, including an 11-year-old girl and a 12-year-old boy, have died and three others have been injured, one of them in critical condition, after a stabbing in Queens, New York, according to the BBC and CNN.
The other two deceased are a 44-year-old woman and a man in his 30s. The police, who found the bodies in a house that had been set on fire, believe that they are all members of the same family.
The agents went to a block of flats and saw a man at the entrance leaving with luggage. The man pointed a kitchen knife at the officers, stabbed one in the neck and chest and hit the other in the head. One of the officers pulled his gun and fired. The suspect was taken to the hospital, but arrived dead at the hospital.
The 11-year-old girl was found in front of the home dead from her injuries, police said. A 61-year-old woman is at Mt. Sinai Hospital in critical condition, according to an NYPD spokesperson.
The suspect has been identified as a 38-year-old Bronx resident with a history of domestic violence.
Police confirmed that they received a call from a young man who claimed that “his cousin was killing members of his family.”
