On Wednesday, June 1, at 7:30 AM, a freight train struck a man and killed him. The collision occurred in the Gard near the former Jonquieres-Saint-Vincent station between Avignon and Nimes.
Rail traffic was affected for several hours. Two TER were notably halted on the tracks.
Firefighters and police rushed to the rescue.
It is rare to be able to track a suicide.
