The accident occurred in a meadow that was served by rue Saint-Martin, at 1:30 p.m.
The breeder was busy with medaling a calf. This action was likely to be perceived as hostile by cows. However, the cow did not hesitate in rushing the breeder to defend her calves.
The victim was quickly rescued by firefighters and Smur de BourgoinJallieu’s team.
The accident victim was medically treated at the scene and the animal breeder was flown by helicopter to the Edouard-Herriot hospital, Lyon.
However, his prognosis is not certain. The gendarmes from the community of brigades in Morestel/ Les Avenieres were also present.
