The Cinematographic Study Warner Bros. is preparing a new version of the Movie El Guardiospaladas, which starred in Whitney Houston and Kevin Costner in 1992, according to an exclusive published on Wednesday for Viarty Diario.
At the moment, the distribution of the new tape is unknown, whose script is currently in the hands of Matthew López, an author of Puerto Rican origin that triumphed on Broadway with the work “The Inheritance” and has been nominated for the Tony Awards.
The project to recover the history of the bodyguard with a new version had on the table since 2011, getting to speculate with combinations as disparate as Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson or Channing Tatum and Cardi B to star it.
No couple was confirmed.
The bodyguard was a resounding commercial success, raised more than 400 million dollars around the world and still continues to be broadcast on television.
With more than 45 million copies sold, the tape holds the title of the best-selling soundtrack of all time, with most songs performed by Houston.
The singer, who died in 2012 at age 4, was one of the most popular voices of the 1980s and 1990 and was consecrated as an international star thanks to the topic “I Will Always Love You” who played for the movie.
