Initially, it was to be limited to salaries of 1.6 Smic but the Medef had judged that this would exclude the most qualified young people whose hiring salaries may be higher. This aid – technically “contribution compensation” – will be paid quarterly in installments of 1,000 euros and may be received for the hiring of a young person under 25 on a permanent or fixed-term contract of at least three months, according to these sources. With this raised threshold, it should concern the vast majority of young recruits.
It will last a maximum of one year, or 4,000 euros for a CDI or CDD of at least one year. It will concern all the hirings which will take place in the six months after the entry into force of the device, probably in September.

According to these sources, the ministry mentioned a budget of 1.2 billion euros for the operation and would count on 600,000 hires. When questioned, the Ministry of Labor did not want to confirm this information but indicated that it would be revealed in the presentation of the youth plan, “at the latest on Thursday”.
