It is a new alliance that is emerging in the world of streaming. The Canal group and Apple announced on Thursday, April 13, the signing of a “multi-year strategic partnership”. This collaboration will allow Canal to enrich itself with all the content of Apple TV, the streaming service of the American company, from April 20.

“All new Canal subscribers will also benefit from Apple TV included in their offer, as of their subscription. All Apple TV content can be viewed directly on myCANAL and in the Canal universe of partner decoders and Canal decoders,” they said in a joint statement.

As part of this agreement, the Vivendi subsidiary will also broadcast original Apple series on its Canal channel, such as The Morning Show, Foundation and Tehran, among others.

A “historic” agreement

“From Scorsese to Scott, Aniston to Pitt, Green to Cassel, Apple TV brings together the biggest stars on the planet. They deserved the most beautiful of exhibitions”, rejoiced Maxime Saada, president of the executive board of the Canal group, also welcoming a “historic agreement”.

The offer concerns “initially” France and Switzerland and will be extended to the Czech Republic and Slovakia, territories covered by Canal, the French group further specified.

Launched in November 2019, Apple TV features original productions like Emmy-winning series Ted Lasso, as well as award-winning films like CODA, winner of the 2022 Best Feature Oscar.
