British Airways (BA) has suspended its flights to and from Israel due to “security” issues, the British airline announced this Wednesday.
In a statement, the company noted that “security” is always its “highest priority” when explaining that, following “the latest assessments of the situation” in that country, it is suspending its services “to and from Tel Aviv.”
“We are contacting customers who have reservations to travel to and from Tel Aviv to apologize for the inconvenience and offer options, including a full refund (of their flight) and rebooking with another airline or British Airways on a different date. later” BA noted in the note.
The airline also assured that it “continues to closely monitor the situation in the region.”
Other airlines such as EasyJet and Wizz Air also suspended flights with Tel Aviv following the attacks carried out by Hamas against Israel last Saturday.
In the case of Virgin Atlantic, the company assures that it interrupts the route between these two destinations for 72 hours to “guarantee the safety of customers and crew.”
