After a few months as a controller, ex-RTL boss Habets takes over the fortunes of the TV group ProSiebenSat.1. Above all, he should advance the streaming business. It is said that the previous boss will be separated by mutual agreement.
There is a surprising change of boss at the television company ProSiebenSat.1. Former RTL boss Bert Habets will take over as CEO of the Bavarian television group on November 1, as the MDAX-listed company announced. The native Dutchman has been a member of the ProSiebenSat.1 Supervisory Board since May 2022.
Habets has experience leading global media companies and expertise in launching and growing video streaming services. The previous CEO, Rainer Beaujean, has resigned by mutual agreement with the supervisory board, the company said. Beaujean’s contract was only extended until mid-2027 in December 2021.
Habets’ move from the Supervisory Board to the Group Executive Board will vacate his seat on the Supervisory Board and will be filled at the latest in the course of the next ProSiebenSat.1 Annual General Meeting on May 2, 2023.
The television group emphasized that the Italian major shareholder MediaForEuropa (MFE) had no influence on the personnel.
