The Italian motorcycle manufacturer MV Agusta has revised its three RC models with the 800 three-cylinder engine and technically brought them to a new level. This also makes very mundane things easier. However, the new RC versions will only be available in limited quantities – a few hundred each.
MV Agusta has revised the attractive but also expensive RC models of the 800 family. RC stands for Reparto Corse, which traditionally refers to the racing department of the company based in Scharenna near Varese. Both the super-sporty F3 and the extroverted Dragster, as well as the sporty touring Turismo Veloce, have been optically fine-tuned and technically optimized.
The new RC versions will roll off the production line in limited numbers: there are only 200 of the F3 RC, and 300 each of the Dragster RC and the Turismo Veloce RC. A revised racing kit for the F3 and the Dragster is also on offer.
The F3 RC comes in real Italian racing gear. The USD fork has a new coating to reduce friction, and the new wheels are 10 percent lighter than those previously installed. The F3 RC, which delivers 108 kW/147 hp from a displacement of 798 cc, is available from 23,890 euros.
The extremely muscular-looking Dragster RC SCS (103 kW/140 hp, from 23,090 euros) has had its fork, forged wheels and carbon parts revised in addition to the renewed graphics. The SCS version is equipped with a clutch that also allows stopping and restarting without using the clutch lever.
The Turismo Veloce RC SCS was modified the most: it received a new silencer, new spring tuning, an enlarged windshield and a new sensor for the quickshifter. The IMU is completely new, with the help of which all data of the respective driving conditions are collected and calculated for the precise control of the assistance systems (traction control, cornering ABS, wheelie control).
Thanks to the advanced SCS system, it is also possible to stop and set off without using the clutch handle. The Turismo Veloce RC SCS, which has a top speed of 230 km/h, is available from 24,390 euros; the 34-litre side cases of the 81 kW/110 hp machine are standard.
