The former president of the Valencian Generalitat Francisco Camps has confronted this Tuesday with the considered leader of the Gürtel plot, Francisco Correa, at the exit of the trial in which both are accused in the National Court, and has accused him of lying before the court by asserting that they knew each other, when he did not know him “at all”, as several witnesses explained to Efe.

The confrontation took place at the exit of the hearing room, after the end of the day of the trial in which Correa has declared that he saw Camps on two or three occasions and that it was Álvaro Pérez who “started a good relationship” with him, fruit of which the expresident “was presenting” Pérez to other members of the PP and the Valencian administration. Correa’s number two, Pablo Crespo, has also stated that there was such a relationship between Camps and Pérez.

At the end of the trial, according to some eyewitnesses consulted, Camps confronted Francisco Correa, whom he insulted with terms such as “liar” or “son of a bitch”.

Consulted by Efe, Camps’ lawyer, Pablo Delgado, has denied that insults were uttered during that exchange of words in which Camps “has indeed told him that they want to ruin his life” and has branded Álvaro Pérez a “liar”. , the Mustaches, in reference to the supposed friendship he had with the former president.

According to his version, during the discussion, which several lawyers and accused of the procedure have approached to mediate, the former president of the Valencian Generalitat has blamed Correa “he does not know him at all” and has asked him to say so clearly in court.

Sources from Correa’s environment, for their part, do affirm that the former Valencian president has insulted him and has denied that he has ever seen him or that he was a friend of Álvaro Pérez, the Mustache.

Other sources consulted indicate that on Tuesday they have seen Camps “nervous”, moving constantly in his seat, especially when the Prosecutor’s Office has asked another of Gürtel’s convicts, Pablo Crespo, if the plot made gifts to his relatives .

Camps is accused of crimes of prevarication and fraud in this branch of the Gürtel case, focused on the allegedly irregular adjudication to a company of the plot to mount an exhibitor from the Valencian Community at the Fitur fair in 2009. He is facing a petition two and a half years in prison and 10 years of disqualification.
