A flight of the Japanese airline All Nippon Airways has had to return to the departure airport after the crew found a crack in the cabin window of the Boeing 737 in mid-flight, according to the Kyodo news agency.
Flight 1182 was headed to Toyama airport, but returned to Sapporo-New Chitose airport around 11:20 a.m. (02:20 GMT), with no injuries reported among the 59 passengers and six crew members, according to Kyodo, which cites the airline.
Just a few days ago, Boeing acknowledged having made a “mistake” with another plane, the Alaska Airlines Boeing 737-9 (MAX), after a panel detached in mid-flight, causing cabin decompression.
After what happened, Alaska Airlines technicians inspected their aircraft of this type and saw “some loose components.”
