Etihad Airways had a successful month in August 2024, flying 1.7 million passengers with an average load factor of 89%. This performance reflects the airline’s strong presence during the summer holiday season. CEO Antonoaldo Neves expressed his satisfaction with the results, noting a significant increase in passenger numbers compared to the previous year.

Year-to-date, Etihad has welcomed 12 million passengers, marking a 36% increase from the previous year. The rolling 12-month passenger count as of August 2024 surpassed 17 million, showing a growth of almost 70% compared to the full year of 2022. Despite expanding capacity compared to 2023, the airline maintained a healthy load factor of 89% in August.

Neves highlighted the growth of the fleet to 95 aircraft, up from 79 in the same period last year. The addition of 16 new aircraft within the past year demonstrates the company’s ambition and commitment to growth. These efforts have resulted in consistently exceeding a load factor of 86%.

In August, Etihad welcomed the last two of the six A321neos scheduled for delivery in 2024, expanding its fleet and flying to 10 more destinations compared to the previous year. This expansion not only enhances the airline’s network but also supports Abu Dhabi’s position as a global aviation hub and a top tourist destination.

Overall, the August traffic statistics show Etihad’s continuous growth and popularity among travelers, solidifying its position in the aviation industry. With a focus on customer satisfaction and strategic expansion, the airline is poised for further success in the coming months.
