Hong Kong police have arrested three people for the murder and dismemberment of well-known influencer Abby Choi, 28, after a financial dispute with her ex-husband’s family, authorities said Saturday. These are the parents and older brother of Choi’s ex-husband, who is on the run.

Parts of the remains of Choi, who was featured on the digital cover of fashion magazine L’Officiel Monaco last week, were found in a house where she was dismembered, police said.

“We are still looking for the head,” Superintendent Alan Chung told reporters, after revealing that the woman’s limbs were found inside a refrigerator.

In the house was an electric saw and a meat grinder that was used to grind human flesh, Chung said. “Two pots believed to contain human tissue were found,” she added.

The parents and older brother of Choi’s ex-husband have been arrested and will face murder charges, Chung said. “We believe that the victim and her ex-husband’s family had many financial disputes over large amounts” of money, she said.

“Someone was dissatisfied with the way the victim handled his assets, which became a motive to kill,” he added.

Choi was reported missing on Wednesday. She would have been last seen by the brother of her ex-husband, who was also her driver, although according to the police, the family would have lied to deceive investigators.

The house where the model’s body was found was recently rented and was kept without furniture, suggesting that it was prepared to dispose of Choi’s body, the police superintendent said.
