California fast food chain In-N-Out Burger will open its third location in the San Antonio area Thursday, the company said.
The company will serve its double-double burgers, Animal Style fries and milkshakes at a free-standing restaurant at 22226 N. U.S. 281, near the intersection of U.S. 281 and TPC Parkway on the city’s far North Side, the company said in a news release Thursday.
The restaurant will employ about 50 workers with a starting salary of $11 an hour, according to the release.

The free-standing location will be housed in a shopping center across from the Village at Stone Oak shopping center with eating options including Chipotle, Pei Wei Asian Diner and Vertskebap along with Mattress Firm, Deca Dental, Massage Heights and Sleep Number, according to plans by the Endeavor Real Estate Group. Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation records show the free-standing location cost an estimated $1.5 million to build.
In-N-Out opened its first San Antonio location at 10918 Culebra Road on the Northwest Side in November 2014 and a second area location at 8202 N. Interstate 35 in Windcrest in April 2015. The Irvine, California, company also opened a restaurant June 16 at 1437 North Interstate 35 in San Marcos.
In-N-Out has more than 300 restaurants in Arizona, California, Nevada, Oregon, Texas and Utah, according to its website. The burger chain opened its first two Texas restaurants in May 2011 in Allen and Frisco.
