Penitentiary Institutions have agreed to transfer seven ETA prisoners to prisons in the Basque Country, including Dolores López Resina, Lola, convicted of various murders and the kidnappings of José María Aldaya and Cosme Delclaux, and Mikel San Sebastián, convicted of the attack on the Barajas T4.

The other five ETA members are Óscar Díaz Barrera, Aitor Cotano Sinde, Luis Marinaleda Garciandía, Jon Kepa Preciado Izarra and Jon Mirena San Pedro Blanco, all of them transferred to the Basque Country from Soria, Palencia, Pamplona and Logroño, Penitentiary Institutions reported this Friday.

Dolores López Resina was sentenced to 102 years in prison for her participation in the attack on February 22, 1992 in Santander in which three people died; she to 186 years for her participation in the murder of Vicente Beti on April 18, 1994 in Barcelona; to 17 years for the kidnapping of José María Aldaya (1995) and another 17 and a half years for the kidnapping of Cosme Delclaux (1996).

Mikel San Sebastián Gaztelumendi was sentenced in 2010 to 1,040 years in prison for being responsible for the attack in terminal 4 of the Barajas airport, in which two people died.

Oscar Barreras Díaz was sentenced to 35 years in prison for the 1997 murder in Bilbao of Police inspector Luis Andrés Samperio; and Luis Mariñelarena Garciandía to 100 years as responsible for the attack in which the socialist Fernando Buesa Blanco and his escort Jorge Diez were murdered.

They are joined by Aitor Cotano Sinde, convicted of preparing explosives for two attacks; and Jon Kepa Preciado Izarra, sentenced to 377 years in prison for attempting to assassinate the deputy mayor of the Biscayne municipality of Portugalete Esther Cabezudo, among other sentences for planting explosive devices.

The last transferee is Jon Mirena San Pedro Blanco, sentenced to 50 years in prison for participating in an attempted attack on a policeman on June 6, 1991 in Baracaldo (Vizcaya).

The Association of Victims of Terrorism (AVT) has specified that four of these prisoners have crimes of blood that accumulate nine murders, and that after this movement there are only seven prisoners left to be brought to Basque or Navarrese prisons, so that 96% of ETA prisoners are already sleeping in prisons in these autonomous communities.

“When this infamy ends, bringing the seven remaining prisoners closer (so that they are all in prisons in the Basque Country), we hope that Minister Marlaska apologizes to the victims of terrorism, recognizes the damage caused and resigns automatically, because the job will be finished for which Sánchez signed him”, added the AVT in a statement.

For its part, Dignity and Justice has maintained that “the Government has complied with its infamous legislature pact with Bildu”, since “in exchange for the latter formation supporting the general budgets so that Pedro Sánchez can govern, the executive lowers the pants of democratic decency and sells the victims of terrorism by bringing the last remaining terrorists out of the Basque Country and Navarre”.
