Michael Stietz is currently a manager of uncertainties. At the Körber technology group, he is responsible for procurement and supply chains. He has to coordinate 15,000 suppliers from 80 countries – a mammoth task in view of the rising prices, the energy crisis and the ongoing supply chain problems, which Stietz wants to master by digitizing the supply chain and production. “Technology is needed more and more,” he says in the ntv podcast “So techt Deutschland”.

Incidentally, this also applies to the production of toilet paper, as Stietz reveals. Every fourth toilet paper roll is produced on Körber machines, where pharmaceuticals, tobacco and tissue are also on the agenda. “You wouldn’t believe how complex such a supposedly simple product can be,” explains the manager. In the new episode of “So techt Deutschland”, Michael Stietz explains how digital it is now and what role Tuscany plays in it.
