The State Meteorological Agency, Aemet, forecasts for tomorrow, Friday, a drop in the minimum throughout the peninsula, which will be more noticeable in the Pyrenees; the maximums will also drop in the east, the south and the Balearic Islands, and the rest will remain with few changes or slight ascents. Widespread frosts are expected in the interior of the peninsula.
Morning mists in the northern plateau and in mountain areas, with intervals of low clouds; in the Bay of Biscay there will be cloudy intervals with a tendency to very cloudy due to the formation of a low, which will leave occasional rains, showers and storms, locally intense in Galicia.
Cloudy intervals and medium and high cloudiness in the rest, with the possibility of scattered showers, more likely in the Pyrenees, Catalonia, the Balearic Islands, the Canary Islands and the Strait, but less likely in the center of the peninsula.
The snow level will be 500 meters in the north, 800 in the southern half and the northeast, and around 1,200 in the extreme southeast; with widespread frosts in the interior of the peninsula and locally strong frosts in the central and northern mountains.
North component winds on the Galician coast, on the Mediterranean slope and in the Canary Islands; from the west in the Cantabrian, Estrecho and Alborán, with some strong intervals; and from the southwest on the Atlantic slope.
The snow continues to accumulate at night and, when daylight arrives, the panorama on the border peaks between Asturias and León confirms the forecast. In some areas of the Port of Pajares, with a fog that barely makes it possible to distinguish who dares to take a cold walk, the risk for vehicles is evident and a truck crossed next to the road is proof of this. Already in the province of León, in Casares de Arbás, the threat of a blizzard increases the unpleasant feeling.
