The gross monthly earnings of Full – time and part-time employees in Germany are due to the Corona-crisis in the spring it declined sharply for a number of years. They fell by an average of 2.2 percent for the second quarter of 2019, as the German Federal Statistical office announced on Tuesday. “The widespread use of short-time working due to the Corona pandemic had earnings of negative effects on the level and development of the gross monthly as well as the working hours.”

The paid weekly working hours of employees fell on average by 4.7 per cent. “The gross hourly earnings were, however, by the short-time work affected”, said the statistician. They rose within a year by an average of 2.6 percent.
