Tesla’s Autopilot, Mercedes Drive Pilot – all manufacturers are researching autonomous driving. Marc Guerreiro Augusto from the Technical University of Berlin has the research assignment to make this type of driving socially acceptable. “We have ten kilometers of digitized test track in the middle of Berlin and are showing people that they don’t have to be afraid of contact with this new technology.”

But what about the countryside? Does every road user have to drive autonomously? “No,” says Carolin Zacchaeus from the consulting firm VDI/VDE-IT. “We need mobile options in rural areas like people movers who bring people from A to B.”
