In Castilla-La Mancha, the announcement of the intention of the Generalitat Valenciana to judicially appeal the cut in the transfer of the Tagus river to the Segura to request its precautionary suspension is interpreted as an affront. “They return us to solidarity with our cheeks”, affirmed the president of the region that donated the water, Emiliano García-Page.

During his speech at an event in Puertollano, the socialist baron argued that the plan approved by the Ministry of Ecological Transition that his party mate Ximo Puig is going to take to court means that the flow of the Tagus is applied “in Progressive form”. In addition, he has stressed that it implies compliance with five Supreme Court rulings.

“When a decision is requested to be paralyzed before the courts that has already been approved, it is because it is decided that irreparable damage is going to be caused when what has irreparable damage is the Tagus, which is a sewer”, underlined García- Page about the intention of the Valencian Government. “It’s amazing,” he added.

The Castilian-Manchego president has warned that if Levante “is not supportive” and does not believe that “solidarity is round trip”, his Executive will demand full compliance with the Supreme Court rulings that establish an ecological flow for the Tagus instead of “make an effort” for “flexibility, progressivity and moderation in the application of the rules”.

“If sea water is valid for a mega car factory to be established in Sagunto, I understand that it must be valid for many other things”, García-Page concluded.
