The journalist Ana Blanco, face of the Televisión Española newscasts for three decades, will lead a new program in documentary format, presented as “a trip to the past” of Spain of the last 30 years, divided into eight thematic blocks, where they will also talk present and future.
“Ana Blanco will guide us, in first person, through those historical events and will deal with each issue with the help of experts, anonymous people and well-known faces, with whom she will reflect on the great axes of our country’s society”, explained the secretary General and the Board of Directors of the RTVE Corporation, Alfonso Morales, in a written response to the question formulated by the VOX Parliamentary Group in Congress, collected by Europa Press.
In this sense, Alfonso Morales has added that the space will remember, through the RTVE archive, events of the past “to better understand the present” of Spanish society. Tourism, fame, work, food or housing are some of the topics that will be discussed.
“Ana Blanco, a professional of recognized prestige and trajectory of this house, has given voice in our newscasts to most of the outstanding news of the last three decades, which adds great value to the format and makes it unique”, he stressed.
The general secretary of RTVE has also pointed out that there will be eight episodes that will be broadcast weekly, and has added that the day and time of broadcast “are yet to be determined”.
Asked about what audience levels the continuity of this new space will depend on, he replied that “the audience is not the only factor to assess in RTVE before the renewal of a format”, since it is also due to its public service function.
The cut-off share set for this format is 6% and the program is currently in the production phase and, in principle, it will be finished by the second quarter of 2023.
Ana Blanco, for her participation in the new television program, will receive a program bonus of 4,500 euros. “This will mean a decrease of 3,500 euros in 2023 compared to the bonus of programs that you had been receiving for your work on the newscast,” she has detailed.
Regarding the change of presenter in TD1, Morales has reported that “it was due solely to the request of Ana Blanco herself.” “The management has understood and respected her desire to stop presenting the Newscast after 30 years and face a new stage at the head of other projects within RTVE”, he has settled.
About the new format ‘Let’s get along’, he has advanced that in each program, the presenter Ana Morgade and her team of collaborators will review some of the topics of the week, “in an informal tone and little corseted”; matters of the social chronicle, sport, entertainment or social networks.
“Throughout the night there will be two guests: a current protagonist and a VIP character, who will join the discussion table to chat with the team from intelligent humor, and with an open and fun perspective, in which Ana Morgade has extensive experience”, he stated.
Finally, he has indicated that Morgade’s cache “is within the average remuneration for this type of program, which also has the particularity of being recorded as false direct on a weekly basis.” “This will require days of preparation, script reading, and prior rehearsals,” she concluded.
