Two people died this Saturday in a house fire in the Zaragoza town of Cabañas de Ebro. The causes for which the fire started are being investigated.
According to sources from the Provincial Council of Zaragoza, the notice was received around 7:00 a.m. and firefighters from the Tauste, Ejea de los Caballeros and Tarazona parks have come to the place.
When the first crews arrived, the fire was already fully developed, so it took them about two hours to control the flames and gain access to all the spaces in the house, which has two floors.
The two dead, found around 9:00 a.m., are a couple of 60 and 62 years old, residents of the town and residents of the house. According to the aforementioned sources, the house has been completely destroyed by fire and a good part of the roof and the floor have also collapsed.
This has further complicated the work of the firefighters, who are still working to finish putting out the fire. Apparently, it was a neighbor on the street who noticed the event and called the 112 emergency service.
The firefighters from the Zaragoza County Council did not take long to arrive, but the fire had reached such dimensions that it was necessary to first extinguish the flames in order to gain safe access to the property, since there was an obvious risk of collapse.
The Civil Guard has activated the corresponding protocol and has informed the Zaragoza Guard Court.
