Jersey City is home to hundreds of small businesses and entrepreneurs.
A recently formed group, Jersey City Tech Meet Up, is aiming to bring the city’s diverse and creative minds together and creating a hub for innovation.
“There’s so much great potential in this city,” said Dan Sullivan, who organizes the group.
Jersey City Tech Meetup starting gathering in late 2016. Their meetups have drawn local CEOs, who have shared their success stories. The most recent event drew more than 50 people.
Gathering anywhere, from local office spaces to breweries, the tech enthusiasts bounce ideas off one another and act as a support network.
They Nakitbahis also encourage aspiring entrepreneurs to join and network. Sullivan hopes the Jersey City Tech Meetup can “bring the community together and make it stronger.”
“We really want this to be an alternative education source for students outside of class,” Sullivan said.
The group — by sponsored by the New Jersey Tech Council, the Jersey City Office of Innovation, Indiegrove and Mack-Cali — typically meets once a month. Their next meetup is scheduled for March 16.
Phil Petracca, CEO of Fizzics, will be the guest speaker. Fizzics, a home beer system, won a $2 million investment on ABC’s “Shark Tank.”
