This close-up of the hand-wound mechanical movement caliber L101.1 explains why an A. Lange watch

If the superb dial is reminiscent of the aesthetics of the pocket watches of yesteryear, it nevertheless conceals the most beautiful: the hand-wound caliber L101.1 bringing together 631 components. One look is enough to understand the sophistication of its design and the quality of its finishes. “On its own, the perpetual calendar mechanism requires 211 elements, while 206 others belong to the split-seconds chronograph mechanism”, specify its designers. Fortunately, this horological masterpiece is highlighted on the back side thanks to a sapphire crystal offering the beauty of the caliber to the eye, equipped with screwed gold chatons, blued screws and, of course, a collar spring of a swan and a balance cock engraved by hand, both constituting a true signature for the Saxon manufacture.
