Residents of Borodyanka, Ukraine, gathered on Friday to remember the people who died during the conflict in the area, on the anniversary of the war.
Russian forces entered Borodyanka in late February last year, but later withdrew from the area. Many of the buildings were damaged by air raids.
“People died from Russian bombs. So we came here to pay tribute to them, to remember them, to put flowers,” said a local, Olena Rukavitsyna.
Rukavitsyna’s house was badly damaged in the fighting, and many people lost their lives. “There should be a great punishment for them, not only for (Russian President Vladimir) Putin, but for all the people,” he added.
