Mañaneros, the program presented by Jaime Cantizano, has ensured its continuity on La 1 at least until April 2024. The Board of Directors of RTVE has approved renewing the public channel’s show for at least five more months.

As Vertele has advanced and this newspaper has been able to confirm, the program will continue on the La 1 grid in order for it to establish itself. Premiered on September 4, Mañaneros has had an average audience share of 8.4% in the 31 installments that have been broadcast.

The program, co-produced by RTVE and La Cometa TV, arrived on La 1 after the Public Corporation contracted a total of 42 deliveries for a cost of 3,270,701 euros, of which 2,003,601 euros corresponded to external resources and the remaining 1,267,099 euros to internal resources.

The renewal involves 106 more programs for a total cost of 3,400,000 plus VAT that will be issued until the beginning of April, when it will be decided whether to continue the program for more months.

According to sources close to the agreement, the intention of renewing Mañaneros is to let the program “settle” in a slot as complicated as the morning. They consider that three months are not enough to know if the program works or not and that is why it has been decided to give it more time.

Despite the fact that the data is below the contractual objective, which it placed at 9%, and far from the quotas of its competitors such as Espejo Público or Vamos a ver, programs with which it competes in the same time slot -10.40 to 14.00- , Mañaneros has exceeded that cut-off quota of 9% on several occasions, which has led RTVE to give it a new vote of confidence to create greater loyalty in the mornings with the good data from La Hora de La 1.

In fact, for Eduardo Blanco, one of the directors of the program, the aspiration is to “lead the mornings of television in our country,” according to what he said on the day of the presentation of Mañaneros

Mañaneros has also marked the return of Jaime Cantizano to television. In fact, on the day of the program’s presentation, the former host of Where Are You Heart defined the program as “a great entertainment format that does not forget the things that happen.” “We want the viewer to feel that they are here, with us, so the way of telling things and going beyond the screen is essential,” he said.

To transmit current political news, the program has different sections and collaborators. On the one hand, a table of former politicians who analyze current events with their experience, and on the other, a debate table in which some of the best journalists and political experts are the voices of the daily debate: Javier Aroca, Pilar Velasco, Antón Losada, Ainhoa ??Martínez, Toni Bolaño, Nuria Ribó and Fátima Iglesias, among others.

Mañaneros also has a large group of specialists from very diverse areas. In the current affairs section are the journalist Ángel Moya, collaborator in a multitude of programs and news programs for three decades; Mónica González Álvarez, regular collaborator on television as an expert on events and courts; and Gemma Peñalosa, events and investigation journalist for EL MUNDO and author of Fuego.

Finally, in the society section there is María Eugenia Yagüe, graduate in Philosophy and Letters from the University of Oviedo, society columnist and collaborator in various media; Pepa Jiménez, journalist specialized in social chronicle who has returned to television after several years of absence; Alberto Guzmán, journalist, and social media expert in different spaces and programs; and Diego Reinares, journalist with 25 years of experience in television in entertainment and current affairs formats.
