After a long, intensive search for the missing Julia W. from Remshalden near Stuttgart, the police make a terrible discovery. The body of the 16-year-old is found on a slope that is difficult to access. Investigators are not assuming a violent crime.
After finding the body of a missing girl from Remshalden in Württemberg, the police do not assume a violent crime. “An external fault can be ruled out,” said the police. Based on the overall circumstances and the result of the autopsy, “a suicidal event can be assumed”. It is about a 16-year-old who has been missing for more than a week. The body was found in a wooded area on Thursday. The police had previously been looking for the missing Julia W. for days.
The girl had left her parents’ house in Remshalden near Stuttgart in the early morning of January 24, but had not gone to school, but had taken the train to Kirchheim unter Teck. From there she took the Teckbahn towards Lenningen. After that, their trail was lost. According to police information, the 16-year-old deliberately did not go to school – “she probably told schoolmates that,” said a spokesman for the authorities.
The body was found on Thursday on a steep and difficult-to-access slope in Lenningen. The municipality is located in the district of Esslingen, around 50 kilometers from Remshalden. The discovery was preceded by an extensive search operation. Among other things, numerous police officers, including hundreds of riot police, had searched for the young person in the area around the student’s place of residence and in the region between Lenningen and Kirchheim unter Teck with sniffer dogs and helicopters in the past few days.
The parents also made a desperate call to the public on television. The police had published mugshots showing the girl and her backpack, and wanted posters were also posted. Most recently, the investigators had set up a so-called anonymous tip system, with the help of which witnesses could report easily via the Internet.
