After an accident in Baden-Württemberg, a bus slid down a slope and crashed with the front against a supermarket facade – but the rear part got stuck on a wall at the top. The 72-year-old bus driver was taken to the hospital by helicopter with serious injuries, police said. A van driver and an employee of the shop were also reportedly injured.
According to the first findings of the police in Herrenberg near Tübingen, the bus driver had ignored the right of way of a van at the exit from a bus station. According to a spokesman, the two vehicles collided, after which the bus slid over the slope. The front was smashed. The wreck is to be salvaged with cranes.
According to an initial estimate, the officials put the damage to property at 115,000 euros. Experts should help in the analysis of the accident.
